What was the best thing about your wedding day – besides marrying Tom?
‘Our son Rocky was just three years old at the time – and he really thought that he was getting married to us as well! He stood with us at the alter and was there while we said our vows, which was really lovely. I know a lot of people are traditional and like to have a baby after they’re married, but it’s a really special experience to have your children with you at your wedding.’
Why did you choose Waddestone Manor for your wedding venue?
‘Before Tom had ever proposed to me I had looked at potential wedding venues – actually from two weeks after we first met! Waddestone Manor is a really beautiful venue that incorporates indoor and outdoor into the day. The buildings are stunning and the grounds are even more amazing.’
How did you choose to decorate the venue?
‘The colour scheme was ivory and orange mixed in with candles and fairy lights. The venue is quite Mediterranean, so those colours sat well with the backdrop. We had candelabra centrepieces on the tables with ivory and orange flowers, and also to decorate the orangery where we held the ceremony. Outside all of the trees were dotted with twinkling fairy lights and candles around the pathways.’
Tell us all about your hen do…
‘I actually didn’t have a hen do – which will probably shock a lot of people!’
So what did Tom do for his stag?
‘Tom went to Las Vegas with 25 of his friends – and they all dressed as superheroes for the flight over there!’
If you could have changed anything about the day, what would it be?
‘I know this sounds cliché but I wouldn’t have changed anything about the actual day. I had been dreaming of that day for years and it was exactly as I had hoped it would be.’
Did you have a traditional honeymoon seeing as you already had Rocky?
‘Sort of! In the first week, it was just Tom and I and we stayed in a stunning water bungalow at an adults only resort in the Maldives. For the second week my Mum flew over with Rocky, and we went to more of a family resort.’
