Frankie Bridge on Easter memories, cinnamon rolls and how she keeps her skin clear and smooth
by Amelia Glean
The former Saturdays singer and mum of two shares Easter throwbacks, spills the beans on her recent collaboration with Cadbury, as well as revealing a certain weakness for cinnamon rolls!
Are you a chocoholic? If so what’s your favourite chocolate treat?
‘Oh definitely – fruit & nut is my favouriteeee. I craved it so much when I was pregnant and it’s kind of stuck. Wayne is probably worse than me, I have to hide treats around the house so he doesn’t find them and eat them all there and then!’
What’s your guilty pleasure?
‘Cinnamon rolls – all day, everyday. If I see one I have to get it – not even sorry!’
What are your memories of Easter growing up?
‘My parents always tried to make Easter Sunday a bit of an event. We had all the family round for a big lunch and they left clues for us for the Easter Hunt. Instead of finding loads of eggs, you found clues which eventually led to your chocolate prize. I remember it so clearly, that’s where I got the idea about the clues for this book. Hopefully I can recreate some of that magic with my boys this year.’
How do you celebrate Easter with your two boys?
‘Easter in my home is always lots of fun. I try to get the kids outside as much as possible and try and set them with Easter Egg trails. All the family want to do one for them, so they are always really spoilt, they have so many to do and they just love it.’
What was it like to write your own book?
‘It was great to create the book with Cadbury and bring the tale up-to-date for today. I can’t wait to read the boys my version, it will be a really nice story for them to learn about.’
What inspired you do it?
‘I really wanted to try new things this year and I’d never written a book or an autobiography, so when this opportunity came up, I couldn’t say no. I really enjoyed the whole experience of working with the team to create something special and that hopefully a lot of people will enjoy!’
How do you stay in shape these days?
‘By trying not to eat so many cinnamon rolls…ha! Luckily Wayne is a gym-fanatic and is always doing some sort of exercise so he’s my motivation. I think mixing up your workouts are the key!’
What does your diet look like?
‘I’m lucky as I love kale, so I try to add that into everything. I’m a terrible cook – so I try to keep it simple and fill the plate with vegetables. I also love salmon but I’m definitely an order a salad with a side of fries kinda girl.’
What’s one thing that you couldn’t live without?
What is your top beauty tip for our readers?
‘Take off your makeup! My mum ingrained that into my mind from a young age and I’ve done that ever since – so much better for your skin. No matter how tired (or tipsy you are), make sure you do it!’
Could you reveal one thing for our readers that they might not already know about you?
‘I have a pantry full of empty sweet jars that I haven’t filled cause I know I’ll just eat them all!’
