Brits holidaying habits revealed!
by Celebrity Secrets
Are you a regular long-haul jet-setter like Coleen Rooney, or do you prefer shorter breaks to Spain like Jess Impiazzi?
A new survey from holidayextras.com has revealed that nearly half of Brits favour long-haul holidays. What’s more, almost three quarters of us (73 per cent) plan to get away at least twice in 2018, with more than one in 10 (13 per cent) hoping to take five or more breaks away this year. Also, nearly half of us (40 per cent) are in favour of hopping on long-haul flights and travelling further for a holiday of two weeks or more.
When looking into the types of holidays that Brits prefer, and where they will be heading, nearly a quarter (24 per cent) choose the classic favourite of ‘sun, sea and sand’ as their destination of choice. This is reflected in the top destinations chosen by holidaymakers – Spain remains a popular choice with almost one in five (18 per cent) Brits saying they plan a Spanish visit this year.
Spain as a favourite was closely followed by the Canary Islands, where 14 per cent of those polled said they hoped to visit these shores 2018.
A further 22 per cent say that the cost of their holiday is a key factor when selecting their break, and another quarter of respondents reveal themselves to be in search of new cultural experiences, with ‘city, culture and cuisine’ taking 23 per cent of the vote.
Only two per cent picked a more active, sporty break as their trip of choice and only three per cent making their destination based on available family attractions and days out.
